Within 14 days of your trip departure: 75% of costs become non-refundable, with the remaining 25% being converted to an expedition credit, as described above.
The above statements apply if you have to cancel for any reason.
Cancellation by Lure of the North Inc. (LotN)
LotN reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to scheduled departure due to insufficient registration, weather or logistical problems or any other reason without penalty to LotN. In this case, the participant can choose to have their payments transferred to another booking, or be refunded in full back to their original registration method. We do not accept any additional liability for any other expenses the participant may have incurred, including flight or travel arrangements.
Change in Itinerary
In very rare cases, a trip may have to shift locations, travel methods, routes and/ or objectives to accommodate the challenges and shifting conditions of wilderness travel. In all cases we will endeavour to provide an incredible and memorable wilderness experience even if it has to be different than what was originally offered. LotN reserves the right to change the itinerary and objective of any trip due to weather or other logistical challenges. No additional refunds (beyond our typical “cancellation by participant” policy) will be provided for trips that have a changed itinerary.
For trips of 7 or less days duration, the trip departure point may shift up to 250km (straight line measurement) from the original departure point.
For trips > 7 days duration, the trip departure point may shift up to 500km (straight line measurement) from the original departure point.
First Nations Discount
We recognize that we owe a debt of gratitude to the many First Nations cultures that have lived on and continue to live on this great land. Their rich and ongoing legacy has provided us with a blueprint (we attempt to follow) to live and travel well on the land.
As a small token of gratitude, all North American indigenous people receive 25% off the cost of courses and expeditions.
