Release of Liability

WARNING: You are about to enter a world of doom and gloom legal-ese. But before we paint a picture of all of the terrible things that might happen when you step outside your door to have an adventure, we’d like to take a moment to share some of the things we do to reduce and prevent mishaps:

BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT YOU WILL WAIVE CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.

Hereafter referred to as “The Activity”.

Assumption of Risk

I am aware that any activity in the wilderness includes many inherent risks. Such activities pose a risk of emotional or physical injury, including the possibility of serious bodily injury or death.

1. I accept the fact that Lure of the North Inc. and all associated guides or employees, cannot guarantee my safety on such an expedition or experience.
2. I also understand that damage to property may occur as a result of my participation in this activity.
3. I freely accept and assume all such risks, danger and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting from my participation in this activity.
4. I understand that if I am removed from a trip or experience for any reason whatsoever, all evacuation, hospital expenses, doctors’ fees and repatriation costs are my responsibility. [Please note: the Ontario government, which conducts rescue operations in Ontario, does not have a history of charging for most rescues, though this may not be the case for international guests. Please look into travel insurance.]

In consideration of Lure of the North Inc. allowing my participation in the activity of The Activity, I agree as follows (please initial below to confirm you have read and agree with the below conditions):

In entering into this Agreement, I am not relying upon any oral or written representatives or statements made by the Releasees other than what is set forth in this Agreement.

I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS AGREEMENT, AND I AM AWARE THAT BY SIGINING I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH I MAY OR MY HEIRS, NEXT OF KIN, EXECUTORS, ADMINISTRATORS AND ASSIGNS MAY HAVE AGAINST THE RELEASEES.
