What are these and Why are We Selling
Seek Outside 4 person Sil-nylon tipis are very lightweight, extremely portable tents with stove jacks that can accept a variety of wood stoves.  They’re suitable for use in the winter (with or without a stove, but of course we highly recommend a stove!), and great summer tents as well. They can be hauled into a winter site on a toboggan or sled, but are small and light enough to be great backpacking tents as well.

We bought these in 2020 during COVID for social distancing and they worked out great, but they just haven’t been used since then.  We prefer big group tents, for communal meals, shared wood stove stoking, and general sociability, so they don’t have a spot in our lineup, but they are great tents.

Add a Kni Co Trekker Trail Stove!

More Details
These aren’t exactly the Cimarron model, but that seems to be the closest current model in the Seek Outside lineup. When we bought these in 2020 they were simply called “4 Person Tipi”.

Actually, I found this bit on the Seek Outside Blog describing the difference between the Cimarron and our 4 Person Tipis:

Condition of Tents
Purchased during COVID to accommodate social distancing, and used only one year (stored clean, dry and in a bin since then).   All tents are in good shape, with no major damage on any of them.  All have been used 1 – 3 weeks by trip participants, with stoves. There may be some minor spark holes, there is some signs of use/wear at the stove jacks.

Some of the poles have some bend in them, which seemed to happen right away, and we never considered an issue.  No stress cracks or signs of breaking, but they seem to have flexed and kept a memory, they still worked perfectly.

Tents are seam sealed.  Seam sealing was done at home, and is probably not as neat as a factory job (some spots where the seam seal ran off the seam), but tents were all waterproof in use.

Include tent pegs and stuff sacs.  One tent we seem to have lost the stuff sac, so it has a different brand of lightweight stuff sack which does not fit the poles.

The pictures show the model without screens.  The other 2 tents are the same, but with screens.

Sizing

Seek Outside calls these 4 person tipis.  With a stove, they are 2 people at most.  We found them great for a single person and their gear, though 2 people could certainly do it with a bit more care.

Note on the listed “Regular Price”.
This is not a regular retail item for us, so we found a Canadian retailer selling the 4p Cimmaron, and selected the same options (carbon pole, nest,  with or without screens (depending on model) and seam sealing) to select a “regular price” for comparison purposes.  Remember, the tipi was actually quite a bit more expensive than the Cimmaron, so we’re offering these at an even greater discount than listed numbers suggest.
