Heading on trip!

Whoohoo, its winter!

Please note, we’ll be away from the office Feb 15th – 25th and again Mar 1st – 19th.  There are some items in stock, that we can ship quickly (DIY kits, toboggans, saws) when we’re home, but custom made work (like moccasins and mittens) may be subject to long delays.  We will be in touch when we’re in the office with an ETA on your order, and if we can’t get it to you in the time frame you require it, we will of course offer a full refund.

Happy Trails!

Training Camp and Vast Horizons Fun!

“Did this trip after having completed the training camp. An excellent introduction to Winter Camping. Dave and Kie are great teachers and leaders. The experience was tough which made it all the more rewarding. The summit of Mount Ararat would have looked impossible to me if I had not been with Dave and Kie. Definitely made me want to go on a longer expedition. The experience was all the more richer having made all my own gear from their DIY kits. I never would have thought that I could sew my own moccasins that would keep my feet warm and dry. I highly recommend making at least some of your own gear.” – Malcolm Savage

We had an amazing group of people come out on our first expedition of the year. Thank you to all of you who came out and enjoyed the beauty that is the winter with us. To view our photos from the Training Camp portion of the trip view them by clicking the hyper link SNOWSHOE EXPEDITION.

We are now open for registration for our 2018 Training Camp and Vast Horizons Expedition. Please follow the hyper link to register  or for more information.

3Handcrafts“…I have been looking for moccasins for a while now- but all the ready made moccasins just weren’t right….

…I watched many videos on YouTube, read many other website instructions. I have tried other methods… But yours was the best one I found, with clear, easy to understand and follow instructions. Kielyn did an awesome job explaining and showing how to make them….

…I made a pair and I LOVE them. So, THANK YOU!!!!!!! Thank you for the video’s, thank you for providing the instruction book and patterns for free and thank you for being awesome.

We want to thank each and every one of you for your support throughout the years. Without you, we truly couldn’t live the life that we’ve chosen. May your 2017 bring you much love, laughter and energy to get you to where you want to be.

Last Chance for Winter Moccasin Workshop in 2016

LOTN Trans temagami23

Only 45 minutes north from downtown Toronto situated in a beautiful conservation area, you can make your very own (or for a loved one) traditional winter moccasins with our guidance.

This is our last public moccasin workshop of the season and we’ve heard from the Weather Network that Old Man Winter will be stepping out from his cave to show us what he’s got this year!

There are still a few spots left and we know you won’t be disappointed. Check out our testimonials page if you need more convincing. Or, sign-up now.

“I Applaud You Guys.”

“Hello Kielyn and Dave,

I received my moccasins yesterday in the mail and they are fantastic, better than I even imagined. Kielyn, you did and incredible job on these. I love traditional hand made things and these are great. Fantastic, right down to the deer antler button, leather trim around the button and packaging, wrapping them in burlap, I love that. For years, all the presents under our Christmas Tree are wrapped in brown paper with festive ribbon and homemade stamps on the paper, again, I love tradition. The workmanship on these moccasins is beautiful and I am going to enjoy them very much. I intend to buy more or your products over the coming months. I think that you are doing something very important with your company making traditional hand made products and teaching traditional skills. I applaud you guys.

Cheers,

Snowshoes and Toboggans

LOTN Trans temagami35

We are preparing for freeze up as the sun barely peaks over the horizon and the nights fill the pond with ice. So if you are hoping to get a toboggan or snowshoes for Christmas time, you may wish to consider ordering now! Otherwise we are restricted to what we can carry on our backs during the freeze up period.

Our backs will thank you!
