We have been accumulating large pieces of split-skin hide for years. With the good intentions of using it for small projects but it is time to clear the store for our new hide shipments! We’re gearing up for another great year and I want to make sure this hide gets into some crafty hands!  – Split Skin Bundles!

Our last campsite on the Missinaibi

Thank you SO much for such an amazing winter. We have over 13 feet of snow fall this winter and without any significant thawing that means that we still have snow in the dark corners of the land.

We have spent the last month bringing in our firewood for next year and we’re already getting excited for what’s to come for the 2020 season.

The time has come where we put on our snowshoes and vanish for three weeks in the great northern landscapes of the mighty Missinaibi River. We are travelling by foot, self-supported for 160 kilometres (100 miles) down the river towards the small town of Mattice. This means- the store is shut down until we get back. If you do not hear from us, this is why!

We are currently out on our Life on the Trapline course and have been non-stop since Christmas. We hope you have all been able to get out and enjoy this extreme winter we’re having. It has been a wild ride thus far and we want to thank all of you who have been patient with slow response times as we are focusing on our expeditions.

Up next is our biggest guided trip ever and it is down the historic Missinaibi River. We will be gone for three weeks on the trail with 10 intrepid explorer’s snowshoeing 160 km down the steepest section of the river.

Our Pond lit up with activity and the new moon rising.

We are into the swing of our guiding season now, and as a result we are slower communicating and shipping orders.  Our next admin day to prepare orders and answer emails will be Jan 18th.  Thank you for your patience!

Our DIY Sale will come to an end on Dec 31st as we prepare to transition into our expedition season.

On that same note, please be aware that shipping and communication speeds will be slower during our busy trip season.  DIY kits, stoves, toboggans and other non-custom orders should continue to ship quite quickly, but new mitten and moccasin kits will not be filled until the spring.

We have continued to have an incredible response to our specialized clothing and equipment this year, and for that we’re very thankful!  Unfortunately because of that response, our hand-crafted mittens and moccasins are now subject to lengthy delays. As of December 3rd, we are now targeting shipping new moccasin and mittens orders between Christmas and New years.  That’s the stick.

But we’re still happy to dangle the carrot for you as well!  If you’re willing to make them yourself we’re shipping our DIY moccasin and mitten kits without delay, and we’re still offering them at a sale price while we try to work through our backlog of finished items.
